Something, at the time, that was WAY beyond our comfort zone. They asked us to step outside the studio, and turn the camera around to create travel films. So, we packed up our iPhones (no fancy equipment), and took our audience along with us on our first “vlogging” cruise.

Here’s what people are saying about the CruiseTipsTV Unplugged Podcast

I grew up camping in the wilds of Lake Havasu every summer (we’re talking “watch for rattlesnakes” type camping) & visiting Puerto Vallarta, Mexico on winter holidays. Mr. CruiseTipsTV grew up on waterskis & lakes near Sacramento, California and spent his final year of University studying Spanish in Madrid, Spain. I joined him for the last 6 months of that adventure in Spain, and from there, even after settling into corporate jobs, travel was our “prime directive” and we never stopped traveling. Cruise Tips TV have done a great job aggregating all the basics you need to know when planning a cruise.

But anything related to your health or other travel issues won’t be covered, so you’ll need to rely on personal policies. When you’re staying at a hotel, you might forgo room service because it can get pricey—or because you can’t order whatever you want, whenever you want it. That’s not necessarily the case on a cruise.

Very relatable host(s) who it’s easy to feel like you’re just sitting at a table with while they talk and banter enthusiastically about cruise stuff. Working hard for our attention, and I appreciate that. We made the leap & started CruiseTipsTV in 2013 after a family dinner table conversation. Being rude or cold to the crew

Why We Love Packing Cubes

But there are many more traditions based on individual cruise lines, travel routes or themes (say, a Disney cruise), and part of the fun is getting to discover them. You can read up about them on online forums or just wait to be surprised. Some cruises also allow you to “bid” for an upgrade, meaning that you can offer an extra amount of money for that nicer cabin. This is still a good deal, since even with the extra fee, it’s still cheaper than if you had paid the original rate for that room.

Going on my first ever cruise this summer to Alaska and trying to learn as much as possible. Your voices are so easy to listen to, love the banter, and so much good information. We have lots of fun on Instagram, and we have a wonderful welcoming cruising community on Facebook. YouTube was the rising new media platform at the time, so we made the leap and created our YouTube channel. From “how-to” packing videos and ship tours, to tips & hacks on how to save time and money, our library has grown to well over 600 videos. It wasn’t until 2003 when we ventured out on our FIRST cruise together that we fell in love with the sea and the ease of cruise travel.

It’s true that tipping isn’t the same on cruises as it is in other places—after all, most cruises are all-inclusive. We launched our channel in 2013 to share our love for cruise travel. We created this master class to give you step-by-step cruise planning tools so you can plan the cruise of your dreams. Ships, cruise lines and even cruising culture in general have their own traditions. The most popular one on all cruise lines is the “Cruising Duck.” Never heard of it? Guests bring a rubber duck and hide it around the ship to be discovered by others.

Will definately rewatch at least once before cruising. This is a great class to help anyone who is new to cruising. I took this course after my fourth cruise, and I even found some tips for myself. CruiseTipsTV has added podcasts to their list of cruise resources.

Since then, we have visited Japan, Mexico, Alaska, Europe and the Caribbean, and have experienced 40 cruises on 6 cruise lines, documenting the adventures, and sharing our best tips and tricks. If you are looking for cruise packing tips, or even just packing tips in general look no further. You’ll find articles with packing tips, videos with packing tips, and even gear reviews with packing tips. It’s fine to go ashore independently and find your own adventures, but I’ve seen too many guests end up losing track of time or distance, and then end up waving the ship goodbye from shore. If this happens, you’ll have to find your own travel to the cruise ship’s next port of call.

CruiseTipsTV’s collection of helpful cruise tips. We have cruise tips for first time cruisers, and seasoned cruisers alike. You’ll find cruise tips about packing for a cruise, formal nights, saving money, excursions, staterooms, travel insurance, cruise products and more.
