Laura’s Dugout Home near Walnut Grove, Minnesota – Laura Ingalls Wilder lived 1.5 miles north of Walnut Grove along the banks of Plum Creek from 1874 to 1876. In 1947 the Gordon family purchased the 172-acre farm where the Dugout was located, and to this day, it is available for Laura fans to visit and experience the sights and sounds described in On the Banks of Plum Creek. The series is an adaptation of Laura Ingalls Wilder’s ‘Little House’ series.
